THANK-FULL: NY FOOD RECAP

"So, what we gone eat when I get there?"

Happy November! It's "We got food at the house" season which means we are one step closer to my favorite time of year... Christmas! But, let me not get ahead of myself. For the month of November, I'll be sharing some of the things that I'm thankful for. And what better way to kick off this month than FOOD. I be hungry.

Now ya'll know, anytime I go to a new city, I got to eat. That's one of my favorite things about a vacation. You do all of the prepping for it, you shop for new outfits, you try to lose a couple of pounds to get into the new outfits, you pack and travel. But when you finally make it to your destination, you get to just relax and try as many foods as you can. You know you don't be eating like that all the time, so it's all good.

I had an absolute blast exploring New York City with my friends Yaya, Greg and baby G! When I touched down at their home in Brooklyn, I was met at the door with a huge slice of pizza because they knew what I came for! What a way to be welcomed to the big apple!

Did ya'll know that New York is also known for it's bagels? Some places have bagels the size of my face! I kinda got a big face, so that's a big bagel. We popped into Steve's Bagel's one morning for some breakfast and Steve and 'nem touched my soul with that sandwich. Yaya ordered me a baconeggcheese on an everything bagel. Yes, you have to say baconeggcheese all together like that and say it kind of fast, because everybody in New York is in a rush.

P. S. We also had this freshly baked cheesecake brownie muffin thingy that I didn't get a picture of. But I have feelings for that muffin.

Yaya knows I LOVE pancakes. We didn't make it to brunch but homegirl whipped up a quick breakfast for me one morning that was just as tasty! You can't go wrong with a home cooked meal.

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, El Sombrero. So, Yaya and I were having a conversation about how I've never had plantains before. In all of my 29 years, no one has introduced me to them. This was a Dominican restaurant where I got my entire life! First, she had me try the salted plantains that came with a garlic sauce. Then, we split an order of the sweet plantains. Those were my favorite! I had a steak that was so tender and seasoned to perfection, with a side of rice and beans. I almost took a nap in that booth after this meal.

Ya'll, I think it's safe to say that I got my New York food fix for this go round. But, I will definitely be going back.

The moral of the story is, I can't wait to be fat with ya'll this holiday season. Who's cooking?

P.S. Thanks for making this a delicious trip, Yaya!
