FOOD IS LOVE: FULTON MARKET FEST RECAP
"I love to walk & eat"
When people visit me in Chicago, I always like to have at least one fun activity planned out for us to enjoy. Usually, that activity revolves around food or wine. Or both. To me, it ain't nothing like walking, while eating new foods, sipping adult beverages and talking some good trash.
A couple of weeks ago, my mom came to visit and I took her the Fulton Market Harvest Fest. The weather was perfect, the people were pleasant and the food was pretty tasty!
I purchased our tickets ahead of time so it was smooth sailing when we arrived at the event. We were scanned in, given wristbands, tickets (used like money) for the booths and a couple of cool little tote bags to carry around. I love a useful souvenir! Ya'll know they charging us for bags at the grocery store these days. I'm gone keep that in my car for these Target runs.
Now, I'm not going to lie to ya'll. I was so thirsty to try to eat everything at that festival, that I forgot the names of some of the vendors (All of which can be found in the Fulton Market). AINT.BRIT.TRIPPIN. But, I hope that you can still enjoy these delicious photos. Let me know if you can smell or taste these pictures! Here's a quick run down:
These are parmesan potato skins. No, really. They are the actual skin of the potato topped with grated parmesan cheese. Good crunchy appetizer. With, what I'm pretty sure was ranch dipping sauce on the side. Whatever, it doesn't matter, I ate it anyway.
This is not your normal chicken and waffles as you can see. Its a waffle cone, stuffed with pieces of fried chicken and some other things that I wasn't quite sure of to be honest (I think it was pork & sweet potato). By end of this snack, I was kind of confused. Did I keep eating out of curiosity? Yes I did. The folks at this booth were extremely pleasant and I really wish I could remember the name of this place.
*Caution: Next Photo May Cause Phone Licking* This, my friends is not just any old donut. Oh no. THIS IS A BOMBOLINI! Aight so boom... a hole-less donut, topped with cooked apples, and a baby bottle of caramel that says "Squeeze me!" I squeez it! I usually don't even like cooked fruit. I've been almost kicked out of my family multiple times for dipping all of the crust out of the peach cobbler and leaving the peaches. But I didn't even think twice when biting into this. You can find this and other cool things at Bombobar in the Fulton Market!
Look ya'll, the moral of the story is, call me when you need somebody to come eat with you. I ain't talking about riding with you to order some Popeyes (although that's not completely out of the question). Let's explore some food and drinks together while talking a little bit of trash.
Well, that's all the food pics I have for you today. I hope you made it through this blog post without swallowing your phone.
