CONFESSIONS OF A RECOVERING OVERTHINKER

"Okay, maybe I'm overthinking..... But what if I'm not overthinking and something happens and my life is ruined forever?"
-Me, every night at approximately 2:04 AM

I know, I know, last week I was on here talking to ya'll about shifting your energy and how we all need to take a chill pill sometimes. And here I am one week later talking about being a over-thinker. But how can we solve our problems if we don't address them, right?

Sit down, it's time for ghetto therapy.

It's like this: There are good and bad sides to over-thinking. Ya'll want the good or the bad first?... Okay, I'll do the bad.

Over-thinking has made me many things:

1. A Procrastinator - Sometimes, I over-think things so much and get so overwhelmed that I just say forget it and go take a nap, then come back to it 5 seconds before I have to make a decision on it.

2. Late - I over-think everything, down to my outfits. I have had my shoes on, heading out (after changing clothes multiple times), caught a reflection of myself in the oven door and said "Naw, my legs look fat", went back to change and now I gotta go 150 mph to be on time.

3. Tired - Why does over-thinking come at night? I am in bed by 11 PM but somehow, I still find a way to stress over if my future man is going to leave me after he sees me with my retainers for the first time.

On the other side, it's good for some things:

1. Intuition - Over-thinking will help you to explore all outcomes before making any rash decisions. I have saved myself a lot of time and energy by allowing myself to think things through.

That's it. It's only good for one thing. It's one BIG thing though. See why I saved the good for last?

Ya'll, the moral of the story is, we still should probably chill out. Too much of anything is never good. Here's what I'm learning: If you can't solve it, let it go. If you can solve it, do it...then, let it go.
