I'M HELLA BORED: CHANGE OF HABITS

"Ugh, I'm bored."

Hey ya'll! Welcome to 2019! I'm so glad that you decided to bring me with you instead of leaving me in the old year with all the people you hate. I know it's the top of the year and most of us are already a few days into our new diet plans. We cold. We mean. And we hungry. But, if you want to see change, you have to make a change, right?

Change is the one thing that is consistent in our lives. Nothing ever stays the same. For the month of January, I'll be talking to you all about CHANGE. Which can mean a lot of different things for a lot of people. For me, this first week of 2019, it meant boredom.

Before Christmas, I promised myself that after I finished my last blog post, I was taking some time to myself. Now, if ya'll follow me on social media, you know I go hard with the self promotion. I'm in ya'll face every. damn. day. And it ain't nothing you can do to stop me because I feel like I have a mission to accomplish. I meant it when I said "If nobody is going to cast me, then I'm going to cast myself." Ya'll, I go hard. But, someone (I don't know who) once said that too much of anything is never good for you. Even when I wasn't posting, I found myself getting distracted by scrolling during a movie night. My right thumb was even starting to hurt! That's ridiculous!

I had to change that habit. So, I took a 5 day social media hiatus. Here's what I learned from that boredom:
1. Social media is my connection to others - I need more human interaction.
2. I put a lot of pressure on myself - I can ease up sometimes.
3. Dating apps are just as trash as I left them.

Change was so heavy on my heart that I also changed my diet. Not because I plan on never eating cake again but because I turn 30 this year and I can't let 23 year old me out-do 30 year old me. Plus, I was starting to go on a cupcake/bakery mission every week. That's ridiculous!

I had to change that habit. Here's what I'm learning from being bored with this meal plan:
1. The way I was eating popcorn is a sin.
2. You go to bed on time when you're not eating snacks in the kitchen all night.
3. My thighs deserve their own YouTube channel.

Look ya'll, the moral of the story is, sometimes, change means boredom when it's time to cut those unhealthy habits. Maybe it's too much social media, maybe it's too many sweets, maybe it's too much drama. Whatever it is that you're struggling to break from know that the CHANGE starts with you.

See ya'll next week.
