CONSISTENCY: STOP BREAKING PROMISES TO YOURSELF

"I'll do it later."

Aight, so boom. You know when somebody tells you they're going to do something and they don't follow through? Or when you think you've got something really good going with a person and they just disappear? Or when you're working with someone on a project and they don't do their part? It's really annoying and very hard to take anyone serious who can't be consistent.

Now, I want you to sit back, take minute or two and think about all of the times you've told yourself you were going to do something and didn't do it. I'll wait....

*Holding music: "When you left, I lost a part of me, this feels so hard to believe, come back baby please cause we belong togetherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"*

Oh okay, you're back. Now, when you broke those promises to yourself, did you feel the same anger or annoyance that you did when it came from someone else? Do you send little reminders to yourself so that you won't miss your own deadlines? Or do you just say "I'll get around to it, no big deal"?

KEEP. THAT. SAME. ENERGY.

My word this week was CONSISTENCY. When I'm tired or in a bad mood, I have a tendency to put everything off. I figure, I only have myself to answer to, so it doesn't really matter. Wrong. You are the most important person that you have to impress. If things don't get done, who else do you have to blame?

The moral of the story is, If you start it, finish it. We have to hold ourselves to as high of a standard as we do others. You can't get mad at someone else for doing to you what you do to yourself.  Just kidding, yes you can.

But you might as well call them back because both of ya'll are trash.
