THE ONLY SHOT I'M SHOOTING IS THIS HENNY

"Why don't you send the first text?"
"Oh you think he`s cute? Go talk to him then."
"He's probably just nervous, you should say something!"

Like, girl/ man, what the hell? I'm nervous too!

Call me old fashioned if you like, but I believe that men were born with the ability to pursue. Therefore, I shall remain at the bar with my legs crossed and allow that man to do just that. Plus, when I get nervous, my fingers shake uncontrollably. So, there's that.

Now, before ya'll get mad and start to compose your little shady tweets and statuses about me, just hear me out. I get it. Some women are much more outgoing than me when it comes to that. Meaning, if you see something you like/ want, you go and get it (ya'll probably be in the stores stealing too... I'm just kidding, calm down). Truth be told, I envy your confidence and ability to have fun with it and walk away if it doesn't work out. I, on the other hand can not take a shot to the ego like that. My pride won't allow it. Picture the guy that insults you when you're not interested. That's probably me. So, I stay quiet.

Me: "Hey, I think you're incredibly handsome and I'd love to get to know you."
Him: "I'm married, sweetheart."
Me: "Whatever. Your hair line uneven as hell anyway. Ugly a$$."

In the past, I've had my share of bad experiences of going after the guy not knowing if he was interested. I'm about to get a little vulnerable. Ya'll ready? Alright peep this:

The year was 2002. I was the new kid at school. I befriended a group a girls who I confided in and told them that I was crushing on a certain guy. They convinced me to write him a note expressing my feelings. I did. Because I was the new kid at school, he had no idea who I was. One day, after the girls gave him the note, they brought him towards my locker where he finally saw who I was and said that I was fat. From that day on, I vowed that shooting my shot would be a "NO" from me.

Here's my opinion put simply. From my experience, if he's interested and ready, he will be moved to step to you. If not, he probably got 5 kids anyway and you ain't missing nothing.

The moral of the story is, do what ya'll do. If homeboy opens the door, I'll walk through it. But don't expect me to hop in your DM's. I'm shy. Especially if you're well groomed and look like you got good credit.
