YOU'RE SELFISH
"I be following you on your little blog and stuff" I always get that when I see y'all in person and it makes me so happy. I`m so glad that somebody is paying attention to me because y'all know I'm kind of needy. Okay, so its been over two weeks since I've posted anything. Y'all, I had to take a little break, step back, re-group and drink some wine. As 2015 comes to an end, I have been allowing myself to reflect on all of the things that I've experienced, the people I've crossed paths with and most importantly, the things that I have learned. I also had to clean up my room cause it was still looking like I just moved in. Anyway, one of the most important things that I've learned is how to be selfish. Wait a minute, stay with me I want to tell you exactly what I mean by that.
Now, when I talk about being selfish, I don't mean eating the last piece of chicken when you know good and well your mama ain't had none yet. I`m talking about making decisions that are going to benefit you and your situation in the long run. Sometimes, the people around you may disagree with your decision to make that move, take that job, or even walk away from that horrible job that you already have, but you have to think about what`s best for you. Let me tell y'all something, in this year alone, I have walked away from unsatisfying jobs, relationships, friend ships and living conditions that made me unhappy because I promised myself that I was not going to allow those things to control me or my peace of mind. But then, you have to be okay with the decisions that you make. If you're going to leave those things behind, you have to be ready to move forward and not look back. Unless its something sexy behind you, then you turn around and see what it wants. Don't be ridiculous.
I've also learned how to talk to God even when I don't want to. Sometimes I get so angry at life and I just have to stop and pray. That`s extremely hard for me because when I get mead, I'd rather shoot at something than talk to God. I know, I know, society doesn't teach us how to do that, but you are on Aintbritfunny.com right now and we talk to God on here, okay? You better try him because I was really close to wrapping my hands around a few necks this year but because of Him, those people are going to live to see 2016. I am a child of God, but I am also not the one you want to play with. He still working on me.
Look, I'm gone let y'all go cause I got stuff to do today too, but the moral of the story is, be selfish, especially if its going to help you grow. But please, consult with God about your decisions too, or call your Auntie who always got the good advice on deck or something.
